Anyway to test to see if a pressure plate is good still?
I whent to the track with my single setup and stock clutch/pressure plate. It held through the first 3 gears, but in 4th the clutch just slipped.
What I was wondering is if there is a place that can test to see if my pressure plate needs to be replaced. The clutch that will be going in it is one of the new Pineapple 6 puck clutchs. When talking about HP goals he said this clutch should hold the 450rwhp I would like to have (some day. )with a stock pressure plate.
As it is, my PP has around 48k miles on it. Or should I just wait a little while and buy a new one? CJ

First, I've never heard of using the stock pressure plate with an aggressive disc design like a six puck. Those components are designed to be more/less balanced to match each other, and always replaced at the same time. So the Pineapple six puck should be used with the stiffer pressure plate, and you'll have no trouble holding 450. While you're in there, you'll want all new bearings and the upgraded release fork (can get it from Malloy).

CJ, why do you want to stay away from a heavier pp? If you're worried about a stiff peddle, you should feel James'. It's not bad at all. That is if that's what you're worried about. Hopefully see you later

With a stock PP, you won't gain any torque capacity unless the disc is a much higher friction material. I would not do this if it were my car.
