Just kiddin man. Couldn't resist. Seriously though I've never heard of that kind of wear. I don't think I'll ever have to replace mine. Of course now that I've said that mine will probably rot completely away the next time I grab it.
You seem repressed. Do you even have a gf?:p

Seriously, though, how long have you owned your car? Seems like you're making some assumptions. I've owned mine close to 6 years and replaced the original **** within the first year I owned it and now have 90k miles on the car w/original engine.

Johnsrx7: Have you even owned the leather Mazdaspeed one? It doesn't sound like it. It sounds like johnc has since our experience was the same. You're better off with the carbonfiber version that looks like stock:

Another option I'm considering is getting the stock Titanium shift **** that Mazda Japan offers with the matching titanium handbrake

How about this one:

Screw-on replacement. This is the heaviest **** I have ever seen. Very nice, the black top part is made of rubber, so no more freezing ***** or HOT HOT HOT *****

0.8LBS weight
Of course the price is on up there with the stock replacement from the dealer. JT has it for $105.95

If no one has helped you by tomorrow morning, I'll go out and take a picture from a few angles. Personally though, I think the stock shift **** is a little too small.

I like my Mazdaspeed carbon fiber screw-on ****, but the Team Voodoo one that Ihor mentions is very nice. Heavy and round, and they'll engrave anything you want on it......

Hey, if spherical ***** are good enough for Ferrari, they're good enough for me.
The only drawback is they get hotter than hell in the summer which requires you to shift REALLY fast!

I cut down my spindle with the ol' Dremel by exactly 1" as well.
