Anyone troubleshoot the aftermarket keyless entry/actuator problem?

After doing searches I have found that the cable likes to break. I'm going to get an alarm system installed next week and they told me that they are going to install an actuator in the driver side door. Is that a bad idea? I would be nice to have keyless entry though.

check out this thread it'll help you out

Also here's a picture from that thread, showing you how to mount the actuator another way to lessen the stress on the cable.

You could always mount the passenger side door acuator off a right hand drive and there would be no stress on the cable.

I got my alarm installed today, and the installer was out of actuators (go figure) So he's gonna install the actuator for the drivers side door hopefully friday, but if not then, maybe monday. I'll let him know about this, and see what he says.

How much do they usually go for? And you can get the JDM/Euro actuator to work properly with the alarm system?

Easy

i had best buy install my alarm and i got locked in the car. i had to drive up there and crawl out the window.

i was so mad, the store manager was called and i had to leave.

full refund the next day and they fried my turbo timer. i also got money for that as well.

the reason i got locked in was a bad actuator.

the reason for the turbo timer frying was best buy only imployes retards. that say they know what there doing

hope u have better luck
