Anyone running 4inch exhausts?

Anyone have pics? Clearance issues? Comments? ANYONE have one for sale?

Its going to be on the hard/impossible side for me to do 3" true duals the way i want to. So dual 3" to a single 4" is next on the plan. Jegs sells all the piping in 4" i need except the bends and a decent muffler. I havnt found a universal 4" straight through import style muffler anywhere. If someone could point me in the right direction there, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I have the Apexi GT Spec exhaust which has a massive ricer 4.50" tip and the rest of the piping is suppose to be 3.75" if I remember right. Also why do you need anything bigger then 3" all the way back? We don't push enough air flow for anything over 3-3.5" at least that is my understanding for now. Unless you are going for something different then more power to you.

i have a Ls1 powering my FD. 1"&7/8 primaries to dual 3" are the headers. I would run open headers all the time, but i plan to street drive it once in a while, so i wanna fab a full exhaust, but want MAX flow. Hence my 4" quest.

Just wanna see some pics of it under the car and see clearances.

Pretty sure i was talking about Exhaust's for the FD chassis and not engine conversions. Instead of being a dick, why didnt you link me to this guy you know with the 4" exhaust? Rather than saying "go here" which doesnt pertain to ANYTHING in this thread...

There is many rx7 owners running 4" exhuasts on a rotary. Most of them are custom designed and very load. But there is a few companies that make them aswell.

I will be going with a 4" exhuast, I think the custom design is the best option. Just get a local exhuast shop to build it for your specs. This way you get what you want.

This guy is using a V8 but is asking about a V8 exhaust system in a Rotary dominated forum. I tried to point him in the right direction and got a smart assed response from him so he'll get no more help from me...

for full 4" exhaust, the only company that sells them is hks, and that will run you about $1200. I have a 4" apexi gt spec exhaust, and love it. I had the regular 3.75" piping, but the bending made the tip of the exhaust hit my aftermarket rear bumper, causing a nice big hole in the bottom end. So i had them bend me 4" piping and had it so it wasnt anywher near that rear bumper. It sounds atleast ten times better than before, nice deep rumble instead of that high pitched chainsaw tone. No complaints here, bp

sounds nice! Il bet the 4" is really going to make it sound DEEEEP. Should be badass, only problem is ground clearance now. On the ls1/fd's the trans mount on the driveside gets in the way BIGtime. Especially with a 3" tube at that point,, whatever il make it work.

I have dual 3" mandrel bent piping on my car with Xpipe. I only had to massage the tranny tunnel by the driver side collector a bit with a 5lb mini sledge. It sounds healthy.

Dual 3" into a single 3.5" should flow well into the 700rwhp range. Ask Mike (Mas280) on here.

TorqueCentral's V8RX7 section is your best bet.

You are crazy to put an LS1 into an FD. You are going to royally screw up the handling.

That, and because i removed my ABS unit, even though i have an adjustable prop valve for the rear... I am going to hit a wall. Theres no questioning it apparently from what ive been told, i WILL hit a wall because i have no ABS. lmao.
