Question Anyone running 15" Weld Racing wheels on the back of thier 3rd gen?

I can't get my Prostars to fit. I ground down the caliper to clear but the bolt for the toe link hits the rim. I even ground down the head of it almost to the point that if I go any further I won't be able to get a socket on it to take it off. I see people at the track using 15" drag wheels on 3rd gens all the time....so I'm wondering how'd they get them to fit????

As long as you have the right offset, you'll need a 1/2" spacer.

I doubt that. More than likely you're seeing 16" slicks on stock or aftermarket 16" wheels.

Eric Cheatham/Resource/.../Lupe has a Ford 8.8" solid rear axle.

No...I've seen 3rd gens with 15" Welds. Cam at Pettit Racing has them on their 3rd gen.

15 inch welds do fit with the right sizes. A buddy of mine is supposed to get the right offsets etc etc for Ernie T. I'll post them whenever he gets back to me.

I'd give you the measurements of my welds but I've got a 8.8 Mustang rear w/ wilwood brakes so mine won't help you. My 15X3.5 inch weld fit up front though.

I've noticed that a lot of the threads you post on you have nothing better to say than smart *** comments. I know that the Pettit drag car has them and I've seen others with them on and Lupe knows they fit with the right offset so if you don't have anything good to say keep the smart remarks to yourself.

Yep. When someone posts something stupid, I usually call them on it.

15" wheels are still the exception rather than the rule, regardless of what you happened to see on a Pettit car or what Eric is running.

Sorry, didn't know you were a badass. I'll add you to my ever-increasing list of forum tough guys so I'll be sure not to cross you again in the future...

Is that the recess bell I hear? Better get back to class, Junior.

Ha ha...you know you are pretty amusing.

I'm not trying to be a badass or an internet tough guy....you said they won't fit and I'd like to see you prove it.

Show me the post where I said 15s wouldn't fit.

If you re-read my post, you'll find that I said "More than likely you're seeing 16" slicks on stock or aftermarket 16" wheels", because that's what most people run. That was in direct response to your statement that you see 15s on 3rd gens all the time. You responded by saying that Pettit had 15s on their third gen. Just FYI, Pettit's car != all the time. Clear now?

Jim,
Please stop stirring up things. If you have nothing to contribute, then just DON'T.
Thanks.

Pardon me, Ernie. I wouldn't want to distract anyone from such a meaningful discussion.
