Anyone run a 2.5 inch midpipe?

My stock cat. converter needs to be replaced and was wondering if anyone has run a smaller diameter midpipe? I'm thinking of just getting a pipe bent and wondering if a 2.5 or 2.25 inch diameter pipe would be enough restriction to prevent creep. BTW the car is stock except for an older APEXi cat-back exhaust. I have owned the car over 2 years now and it has been extremely reliable so far. Anyone who has done this please let me know if it worked. Thanks.

The Racing Beat Turbo II exhaust had a 2.5 inch mid/muffler midpipe. This was the old system some years ago..

If you drive your car on a regular basis, replace your cat with a high flow model. The stink from not having a cat gets annoying after awhile.
