Unhappy Anyone repaired rear wing holes?

I really like the low profile stance of the CWest Shark Wing but like KnightSports, it doesn't cover the holes from the inner stands of the R2 wing.

I think most body shops are not that good from my experiance. I'm afraid of not color matching and how would they fill the holes anyhow.

I had to have two holes filled when I upgraded to the '99 wing.

The body shop welded up the holes.

I asked them to blend only on the rear hatch.
Of course they blended into the B pillars.
I don't know why that was necessary.
It turned out ok but I can see (if i look real closely) the blend line at the top of the B pillars and the roof line. It is barely visible. Therefore they did a very decent job.

You might want to insist that they limit their blending to the rear hatch only.

What body shop did you do this at and how much did it cost? I need to find a decent place to install my 99 wing also. Do you know what type of nuts and screws are needed to install the wing?

As for the hardware required for the '99 wing,
Here are the Mazda Part#'s

4 x Bolts: 9YAA2-0601
2 x Nuts: 99940-0603

These parts are in addition to the "kit" which has everything else.

I drilled the new holes myself, but the body shop could have done it. I just wanted to make sure the wing was located exactly right.

They charged me a $570 because my wing had to be painted. The '99 wing is not available in Montego Blue. If your car is Black, Red, Silver or White the 99 wing can be ordered pre-painted. Therefore, you could pay less at the Body Shop.

I had my work done at Distinctive Coach, but now it's under new ownership and is called DC Autocraft 818-846-5032.
This was the cleanest, largest and nicest shop I have seen. There was plenty of room to keep all cars indoors. They were working exclusively on high end european cars, Posche, Audi, BMW, Jag. I was recomended by a rich friend.

The old owner "Al" has a new shop 818-556-6134 or 818-784-1234.

You should call and visit both of these (if not more) shops before deciding where to take your car.
Good body shops are extremely hard to find.
