For tuning purposes, I have my laptop running AEM's engine management software. I noticed that there was a TV video out port on the laptop, and a VCR in port on my stereo...Anyway, here's what became of that:

It's a functional little dashboard template...haven't taken the time to make it pretty or anything...yet

Hyperite.... that's the best I've seen so far...

Maybe someone gets the idea of setting up an engine management system, using such a screen, but with touchscreen to change settings....

it's quite doable, actually. my friend is purchasing a touchscreen to go with his in-car Pc. Its simple to hook up, too, just has your regular monitor cable as well as a ps/2 mouse cable that you plug into a mouse port. that would be the pimpness.

Yeah, it doubled the value of my car :-\

After spending a good chunk of time tuning, I wouldn't want to do it with a touch screen. I need a mouse and a number pad, and I like to make the changes when I'm not actually IN the car I use log files and fuel maps to make my changes.

There's an A/V interface to the hideaway unit with the Pioneer, and I believe it outputs the center pixel that was touched, but I'll have to do some engineering to figure out how to use that...and I'm not in a rush to be forced into keeping a laptop in my car.

thats a somewhat clear pic of my inside, on the a-pillar is boost (top) and air/fuel (bottom).. THEN, if you look closely, inside my dash pocket (below the radio), to the left of my valentine one concealed display thingie is my nordskog led digital water temp gauge.. i know, its kinda hard to see cause of the steering wheel..and i put it there cause im getting a pfc soon and i wont be needing that so i just put it there for now..i did a clean job though, no wires showing or anything

i'll prob take new pics tomorrow if this thread is still alive..

I did this myself a while back:

.....wish I hadn't chosen Autometers and for that much an A/F gauge. Not as nice as some that others have posted---just another idea.
