I'm looking into getting one of these for my Rx7. I remember my parents had one on our contour when I was younger, but you had to "swipe" the key fob under the dash to unlock the immobilizer. I am wondering if there are any out there that only require the key fob part to be withing say, 5-10 feet for it to be started. I just want to get into the car and put the key in and go like normal.

Anything like this out there?

 

hi there, my FD has 3 immobilizers.
Good quality alarms come with them. Get an alarm with immobilizers and keyless entry - and all you have to do is press the button to unlock the doors and the immobilizers are switched off at the same time..
then just start car like normal. When alarm is on it wont start..

They have already saved one of my cars (not my FD)
