as far as i know from mazda, the car was built in pearl white by the japanese to show MNAO to see if they wanted to sell fd's in that color of white. mazda said no, and they sent it to the training center here in houston. from there when they moved the training center to dallas, a regional or some guy bought it, stayed in houston a while, then he moved to cali. unsure of where in cali, but i think he still with mazda. lemme make some calls see if i can find out who/where it is.

I have never personally seen the Pearl White RX-7, but I have the Suspended Animation article from the July 1995, issue of Turbo and Hi-Tech Performance (p50 and p51).
According to the article, Eibach requested to display an RX-7 in their booth at the 1994 SEMA show. Mazda provided a Pearl White Mica (according to the article, the only one to ever roll off the Mazda assembly line) 1994 PEP (identified in the article as a 1995 Touring, but from the picture it is a PEP) to Eibach and four other aftermarket companies (R.S. Akimoto, Stealth, Work and GAB) for the 1994 SEMA show.
Eibach added progressive rate 365 lbs/in (f) and 274 lbs/in (r), adjustable 32mm (f) and 19mm (r) sway bars, GAB 8-way adjustable shocks, Pearl White Mica Work Equips (18x8.5 and 18x9.5) with Dunlop SP8000s (245/40/18 and 285/35/18), a R.S. Akimoto intercooler, flashed ECU, polished aluminum intake and stainless exhaust, as well as an R1 strut tower bar, front spoiler with brake ducts and special J-Spec Recaro racing seats.
The article indicates that the suspension upgrades increased the skid pad numbers to 1.03g. However, according to R.S. Akimoto, something was wrong with the sequential system and it only recorded a 0-60 time of 5.10 and quarter-mile e.t. of 13.80.
I don’t know if this is the story behind the Pearl White Mica PEP, but even with the year inconsistency, it seems at least plausible that Mazda would provide a special color to display at SEMA.
By the way, if anyone is interested in the article in its entirety, I will email it to anyone that asks (provide e-mail address through PM or this thread). I will also send it to anyone that would like to host it. The article is 2 pages and is about 900K.
