i guess the subject of the tread says it all. I notice the mounts are there.. are all the wiring applications there as well? the reason im asking is i got a bose system for free from a really cool fd owner from NH that i met from the salem bbq on the 21st. good time by the way. i took it because i really have little to no bass and i really dont have the cash to spend on a huge system right now. any feed back would be appreciatied.. talk to ya lata guys

 

i wouldn't suggest it....i've had two bose systems...one in a 91 300z...and one in my 93 rx7....they are great when they're new, but after a while the wires between the speakers and the amps start to go...and they make all kinds of noise....you also must use the stock headunit or it will destroy the quality of the sound....if your looking for a little more base...try ebay get a cheap amp and a base tube.....you can get them for prac. nothing.....

Bad idea. The Bose system isnt that great and the wiring is messed up beyond all hope from what I have heard anyway.

 

If you just want to add a little low-end to your music, get an amplified Bazooka tube. I got an 8" tube with built-in amp as an open-box buy at Circuit City for like $100. It's small, takes about 5 seconds to remove if I need the space, and really sounds great.

The Bose system was a lousy idea - it's far more complicated than it needs to be and totally eats up the trunk space. Not to mention it really doesn't sound that great .

Maybe its just me then.... I have the Bose in my '93 Touring, and it sounds awesome! every bit as good as the 2 10"Bazookas in a bandpass in my '82...

 

rotor motor, your idea sounds good. i have the bose wave tube from my touring installed in my r1. the sound it makes isnt exactly bass, its more in the mid range. i didnt know what wires power the amp, so i just spliced into the speaker wires and am running them off the rear channel outputs of my clarion head unit. the reason i am keeping them, beside the mnimal effect on the overall quality of my sound, is because you hardly ever see an r1 sporting that setup, they look very good and technologically suprerior to any stock stereo ive ever seen.
ps, using the stock r1 carpet liner wasnt a problem either. good luck with your choice.

Most people that have the Bose system in their cars like them for a while, and then hate them when they break and have to be repaired.....large $$$$$. Anyway, I would say no. Right now I'm creating my own system for my FD and it didn't cost me anything either....stuff I had laying around.

yea i think thats going to more work than what its going to be worth after... ill wait a year or two and put a really good system in there.. but it does look pretty cool in the back hehe
