Don't even play Dave...you know everyone that's seen your car pretty much sweats it...

It's VERY impressive. And the engine bay looks very nice w/ all the crap removed. Very nice. Hopefully we'll see it at Rob's BBQ.

Chronologically or actual hours?

The car hasn't been driven since May of 1998. I bought a 20B for it in early '99 but I changed my mind and sold it. Meanwhile, I was driving and drag racing my Supra and couldn't be bothered to do much of anything with the FD.

Then in late '99 I started the V8 project and wasted a year or so waiting on my conversion parts from Grant Robbins of Granny's Speed Shop. I also wasted a year and a half having the engine built because I was being strung along by a thief named Mark Montalvo. During that time I sold the Supra and bought a Z06 Corvette and still couldn't be bothered to do much with the FD.

I work on it a little bit now and then, managed to get it repainted, developed my own engine cradle and '03+ Cobra 8.8" IRS conversion kit, finished about 75% of a sleek headlight kit, got my engine 95% complete, and made a dozen changes to the suspension as well as amassing most of the parts I need to finish it, but basically I just don't have a lot of spare time to work on it, and don't really feel like working on it when I do.

Ooops...yea you're right. Roy's. Loudazzrx7's. And yes, all the locals have seen the bling machine hehe

The doors are just that Dave...just doors. Might get an ooh or ahh for a second or two, then people are like "oh yea I saw that before..." and move on hehe. I need to get my engine bay finished...that's what's up.

Jim...not being ****, but so do you actually plan on finishing it up and keeping it? Or are you just slowly losing interest?

can you point me to information that says that a non-abs car will stop quicker with a skilled driver?
I'm not one for hunting down links but I think the more you look into it you will start to learn that it is not designed for shorter stopping distances, it is only designed to allow you to maintain steering or directional stability, it does have benefits no doubt under some circumstances, but It has been shown you can stop as short or shorter without it on dry conditions.

I'll eventually finish it, but I have no plans for competing in any form, so there's no real practical use for it, and no deadline to get it finished by. I really only have one day a week (when I'm not out of town) when I could do any major work on it and I usually have several other more pressing things that need to be done, so it just sits most of the time. Get yourself a wife, a 10-month old daughter, and a full time job and you'll understand.

Oh I wasn't implying that you're a bum and just don't wanna put effort into it lol. Just curious if you still *care* to finish it, or somewhere along the line you kinda lost the drive to finish it...that's all.

I still wanna hear about this when it's done!

I'll finish it eventually, but let's just say that it's not high on my list of priorities these days.

My car was caught up in a hail storm a few years back. So most of the cost was picked u p by insurance. I paid $1200 out of my pocket to have them properly change the color, ie door sills, engine bay, etc. I think the total for the repair and paint was $6k or something close to that.

Maybe one of you single-turbo equiped dudes can give me a 10-100 side by side run at the BBQ next weekend so i can see what i have to look forward to in a year or so.

I hope mine is straighted out by then. My manifold and exducer housing are at a machine shop right now. I was having trouble getting them to seal so I had to get them machined flat. The pedistols that is. Also I am still waiting on a new wastegate. But if i have my car then certainly. I would let you give it a test drive if you like.
