I used a 1-1/2" unistrut long enough to bolt againt the flywheel and long enough to hit the ground. This is how I was able to remove it. hope this helps/ The unistrut I used had hole every few inches so lining up the hole was realtively easy.

I second the air suggestion. My air gun took the nut right off. Another option (which I used to remove the front pulley bolt) is to go to home depot and get a 4 ft. piece of angle iron, drill two holes in it, and bolt it to the flywheel with the pressure plate bolts.

Yes, it's the picture from Mazdatrix. The real stopper looks slightly different, however it purpose is still the same.

if you have a engine stand. use one of the fingers off of it. use the long bolt hole for bolting to the block and the slot you can put it over a pin on the flywheel

Used a piece of angle-iron I had laying in the garage. I second the suggestion for a BIG impact wrench, I think 450 ft/lbs. or bigger. At least in some cases it's the only way it will come off. It's also safer, for you and the car. And if you have one, you may not need the brace.

Yes, don't waste your time with all of this bullshit. Take it over to your nearest gas station and put an impact to it, it comes right off. I threw my engine in the trunk of my moms lexus and they did it for free in about 15 seconds. The only problem is they may not have that size socket, bring it along

I agree with the long piece of angle iron or a strap of 1/8" plate steel across two of the clutch bolt holes. I used a 2 1/8", 3/4" drive socket on a monster impact gun and the S.O.B. came right off.
