any advice on iridium spark plugs?

hey guys i was just wondering if buying iridium spark plugs for my fd are worth it, i see them for sail on ebay all the time and they say on a turbo charged car, gains of 15 to 20 hp are typical. Does anybody accually have iridium plugs in and do they make a difference, and are they worth the money? also, are there any down side to have these plugs?

15 to 20 HP? Uh I'm a little skeptical of that claim. What modifications do you have on your car? For most people the stock plugs are just fine.

I ran them in my S2000 and they seemed to make a difference on the but dyno. I'm going to get them for my FD soon.

I'm using the ones from HKS (heat range 9). I doubt if there is 15-20hp in there. However, if you are using it with a spark amplifier, the plugs will not last more than 1500km. On my car at least.

I doubt that there is ANY measurable HP gain compared to a clean set of standard NGK 9's. Don't waste your money.

dont buy them if you plan on staying in the stock heat ranges. also 30/plug for plugs that will last as long as normal platinums. i dont think so. for some reason rotaries love to eat plugs. do a search for silver bullet. he has something at the bottom of his page where he has done a research on plugs. very informative
