The anticipation is killing me

Going to be the proud owner of Roy Johnson II's car in four days. I have not been able to sleep the past few days thinking of this car. Finally not a VR, four 4 vr's in a row would have been overkill for me.

Will get some pictures posted soon!

I'm not sure if the 7 I'm buying has the 99 tail light conversion done to it yet. Was wondering if anyone has any of the contact paper (circle cut outs) laying around that I could buy. I'm getting the car this Tuesday, my Spring Break officially started this Friday and will carry on throughout this week so I'm going to try and keep my self busy with my new baby; not to mention putting 1000 miles on it so I can have steve T00N it for me and I can finally get to feel what its like to own an FD with a single setup.

Also, I'm thinking about doing the sleepy eye setup in conjunction with some new lights on the car... Does anyone have any recommendations in regards to what kind of lighting system I should use, or better yet; is there a kit out there that I can look up??? It dosent seem like it would be too difficult to fab up some brakets my self, but I'm also willing to throw down a little cash to get it done right.

which color is the car? Hasn't Steve already "tooned" [sic] this car? Is it the one on the gotham website?

Yes its the one on the gotham website. And yes it had already been tuned but the engine decided to go. Im getting it with a fresh reman -- wont be trying to make nearly as much power as the previous owner, I'm shooting for what little reliability you can get out of these vehichles so the numbers on the car will be moderate... 350ish BWHP

Well the car for sure is being bought into good hands... The FD's my brother and I own always end up being better than they were when we buy them...

I'm hoping this car is solid like my first 94... I had a bad experience with a 93 base, those things are built like tin cans or something. Night and day difference between 93 and 94/95 build...

Anyways, since the engine is pretty well built right now, I've always wanted to do a head light conversion, do you guys have any recommendations???

Roy's car was fast! Only street car I've been in that pulled harder than my 7 did. Its kind of a shame that you're going with a stock motor for now, but it should be more reliable that way. 94's had better quality interior than the 93s, but it looks cheep. At least it doesn't peal. The only real difference why the 94s feel more solid is they bolted a block or styrofoam to the inside of the door skin. Makes it feel alot more slod when you close it. Nothing some dynamat can't solve. Anyway, hope you enjoy it and don't break it.

ah the ignorance

guess what, there is absolutely no difference in chassis rigidity or "build quality" between a 93 and any other year FD, how can there be? nothing substantial was changed

I assume you are referring to the "hollow tin" driver's side door issue, which is easily remedied...do a search sometime, and some '94s still have this problem (the sound deadening/weatherproofing gets old on any of these cars)

I love my '93 VR Touring and I've had it for 8 years....if you feel the need to get a different car every two years because you like to blow cash don't try to justify it with the typical "94-95s are 'better" because they are more rare, and I say so" bs

Maybe it was owner error with the '93 as the '94 VR you sold to Gamezilla was a pile of ****. Please take this new FD to someone else to do the work on it. I wouldn't want to see this one bastardized by you.

Its cool. He had all the big stuff done at gotham and it was a solid car to begin with. As long as he keeps up with the maintainance it should be fine.
