Antenna Wiring?

I'm getting ready to install a new CD player and I am confused about the antenna plug-ins. I've never seen one with two antenna wires like this before. "A" looks like a traditional antenna, so what the heck is "B"? Is there a special adapter required or is some type of splicing in order? Thanks in advance!

The FD has two antennas. One is the power and the other I believe is in the hatch and is for AM reception only.

Seriously? So how the heck to you connect a setup like that to a standard aftermarket head unit.. some kind of adaptor? Not that I use AM radio much (if ever) but it's nice to know that all the features work.

I bought a male to male connector. I connected the male to male connector to where the labeled A plug went. Antenna goes up and down, signal is strong for both AM and FM.
