Antenna removal, 93 R1

I've got the unit unbolted (the retractor motor thing), and I can't figure out how to remove the antenna. Something (where the antenna pokes through the body) is holding the antenna in place. How do you remove it?

look at the antenna from the top, see the outer ring around the center part, there are 2 notches in this ring. Get a pair of needle nose pliers and stick the ends of the pliers in these notches and turn the ring counter clockwise as to un-screw it. the ring will unscrew and release the antenna assembly.

Sorry I dont have any pics of a better explaination... kind of tricky to word

That will work but be carefull not to slip and ding your car with the pliers. They actually make an antenna removal tool. I think Snapon or Matco sells it.
