Another 'what's this?' thread

Im making a drag/street V8 RX7. Im trying to eliminate everything possible that I dont need to shed off as much weight as possible. This includes airbags, abs, p/s, a/c. Can anyone identify what these components are?

The one on the right is the antenna signal. what's the one on the left?

Also, Im not sure if you can tell but there's a loop of wires plugged into themselves on the bottom right of that picture. WTF is that for? That cant possibly accomplish anything.

Also - how do I get the damn antenna out? I want to remove it and seal up that hole but i cant for the life of me get it out. Im about to saw it off.

The thing circled in green... is that the floor under the front seats? Could that be the exhaust overheat sensor?

How does it work? I took the two bolts out and there's nothing under it at all. It just....touches the floor. Does it just sense the heat of the floor?. That was my guess it was the EOS too, so Im just waiting for someone who's certain they know what it is to step in.

Here is the FSM. Antenna removal is not too difficult.

Well page Z-30 in the wiring section of the manual indicates that that is what that is. It should have a Orange/Blue wire and a Black wire going to it according to the 1994 manual. Looks like a simple temp sensor that grounds if there is a problem. If you don't care about it, I think you can just remove it and the car will not complain.

The antenna comes out where the jack sits, remove the jack and work from there. You kind of have to massage it out if you know what I mean. Have fun

Mine doesnt want to come through that hole. Its as though the black piece is too big. I even removed that little o-ring deal that must have been a water seal and it didnt help. Im afraid of bending the aluminum if i yank any harder than i am.

I figured out the first picture is the built in antenna in the rear window. Still not sure what the black box is or why i have wires running in circles. The FSM is confusing as all hell.

Box is 94 updated fan control module ( or add on for 93 ), the overheat sensor in the floor and antenna cable. Rip them all out. You will no doubt go standalone fan control and who needs tunes when you are running down the 1/4 mile.

Ya, I'll be running the Hinson coolant system with their single fan and an independently controlled switch.

Seriously. Why is there like 30wires all plugged into each other. There was only a single black wire running into that loop, and it went in a circle. WTF! Did that used to go to something. There is no way that was supposed to be like that stock...or some guy on the assembly line was smokin some good stuff.
