Another Tire size question
Another Tire size question
OK here's the deal, I recently purchased a set of 18x 8.5 wheels, 2 of these already had tires on them, kumho 255/35/ZR18's, what I'm wanting to know is, is it safe to have that same size put on the other 2 tires, or will I need a different size to go up front?
If so, what size should I get on those 2?
Thanks,
Richard

I've heard of people having problems with 255/35's on a 9" wheel. I'm not sure how it'd fit with a 8.5" wheel. I have 235/40's on my 9" wheel up front and they fit fine, I could probably go to a 245/35 or even a 255/35 if I wanted. I don't think you'll have a problem going with the same size all around.
imo running the same size tires is ideal because it adds to balance of your car. One road racer here I know sticks to 245 hoosiers because it gives him the most success. some other examples: The FEED race car is featured w/ 255/40-17 and
the Knightsports 245/40-17 on all four to name a few.

To the original post, what are your offsets? That will effect what will fit on your fronts. I'd be willing to bet that if you're going to fit anything that big up front (if the offsets are correct) you'll need to roll the fenders.
