Another fuel filter replacement horror story ;)

Forget what everyone says about removal, it's really pretty simple... remove the left and right covers, remove the clamp for the hose you can see, break the seal on the hose with a small flathead, slide off, unbolt the 2 10mm bolts from the rear to drop the holder and get a pair of needlenose in there to remove the 2nd hose, here's where **** got serious.... buy some ear plugs to go with those goggles, i tried to minimize moving the filter/hoses so it wouldn't spill a lot, but i must have had my head sideways and i filled my ear up with some fresh premium gas... hurt real bad, still does

Uh...just a thought: You might want to see a doctor about your ear. Lots of sensitive items in there, and "petroleum distillates" like fuel can't be good for them...

Yeah, I didn't think the fuel filter job was as bad as everyone says on here.

I agree with Kento though, you should get your ear checked out...

It's not that hard or dangerous...use your head...and not as a siphon either...

earplugs aren't going to help that much as the aromatic hydrocarbons are going to melt the polyethylene or similar material that the earplugs are made of. Hear's a thought, don't put your ear by the filter when you let fuel drain?

Cl- in the gene pool anyone?

Did you run the engine without the fuel pump relay first?

I've done it 5+ times and never gotten fuel on my face.....

Don't worry too much about your ear, the ear canal is just sensitive skin. Just don't stick anything IN your ear canal, or you'll tear the skin and then it will hurt.
