another exhaust leak question

its not the same as the others so here it goes. I tried changing out the stock downpipe but did not have enough time due to the two fun bolts on the top of the turbo housing. when i hooked it back up it ran with less power. i had just taken the car to ricks rotary where it then ran like a champ. now it seems to have no power after 5K rpms. less power than before i should say. i know that i am leaking from the gasket where the downpipe and the main cat meet. what i want to know is if i would lose upper end power from this small leak. the first turbo comes alive like normal but the second doesnt seem to be as lively. i have already ordered new gaskets for the downopipe, but i just want to know if this leak can cause this problem!!!! thanks guys.

I doubt that the leak in your exaust is causing your power failer, perhaps if it burned something because the excaping(sp?) flames but other then that i can't imagin it doing anything else. i think the problem is a vaccum problem somewhere near the precontrol valve.

Also, on a side note, your the second guy that i have heard of that can/has burned out exaust gaskets on a fd. There is a guy in Hawaii who seems to also beable to burn out exaust gaskets mad quick yo. lol
(He has a t66 turbo and seems to go thru turbo exaust gaskets faster then he goes thru underwear!)
