Another Awesome Battery Draining Question

Hey guys,

Sorry to make yet another thrilling battery thread. Ive had abit of a looksie but could really find a bang on anwser.

I got myself a battery relocation kit thing a while back but ever since I got it and put it in. The car just sounds like it struggles to start sometimes, like cranks over slower then when the battery was in the front.

Also I find that the battery is going flat a hell of alot quicker!

I've attached the kit that I got off the net. To me the negitive looks like a pin d1ck! You guys reckon the negative could be the issue. It just runs down to the bottom of the boot where I found a hole, sanded the paint off and put a nut and bolt in it.

Any help would be swish, the battery now dies pretty much as soon as i turn the car off which I think is caused from the battery going flat ALL THE TIME!

more info..battery type?

don't think neg would be a problem in draining your battery. If your neg/ground was bad, the battery wouldn't have a completed ground circuit to drain it.

If the ground is bad, it may give you a poor crank condition

Where is your positive connected to?

Will post up the battery type when i get home soon, I no the battery is a samsung last time i checked they made TV's lol It was the battery i got with the car. I took it out and left it for about a year then put the battery back in once fully charged and worked fine for awhile but seem to have turned to poop lately.

Positive cable is connect to the relay box where the positive went onto the standard battery in the engine bay. See picture attached.

with that info I would say you have a bad battery. Looks like you may have charged it back to life but that charge won't hold. You should find that the more you charge it, it will last shorter and shorter. Best bet is to get a new, proven, battery.

At least here in the States most local auto parts stores will test your battery and charging systems for free...obviously hoping that if you do need something, you will buy it from them. If that's an option in NZ, then do that first just to be sure.
If you ask they may also do a quick check of power draw with the car and all accessories off.

Are you sure it is related to the battery relocation? Usually the biggest culprits for battery drains are aftermarket lighting, audio, or security systems.
