this is not a big deal, but quite annoying, when im driving and everything is quiet, no radio, I hear an annoying squeaking coming from the rear hatch, has anyone had any similar experience, or might know what it is? any help would be gratly appreciated, thanks

There are two little rubber bumpers near each corner for the hatch down in the well, when they get worn out, they will squeak.

is this part located underneath the black panel where the hatch moves up is? or is it down where the spare tire is?

It's the hinges themselves. The replacement part has foam isolators between the hinge bodies and the frame.

Have you tried WD40 on the latch? I did, and it worked!

you know what? I think I have found my squeak, and its not the truck hinge.... I noticed my trunk has a little bit of freeplay not a lot, but you know the very back of the trunk where the lock is? well on both sides, theres a rubber block thing, and I put some paper towels on both of them and drove the car around.... It was QUIET! haha. Now paper towels are not a permanant solution, but now I know where its coming from, anybody know about some kinda rubber insulator I can stick on both sides maby?

Ok what I did , was I bought 2 small blue wash towels ( to match the color of the car), and put them on the rear of the hatch, so that there is no more freeplay when the hatch is closed, and ever since then, I havent heard 1 squeak I hope it stays like that, it doesnt sound like an old pice of crap anymore lol

well cause im too poor to be spending a lot of money on something thats not serious in the first place I may fix it in the future thanks for the info, now I know what to replace. I was just tired of heard the LOUD creaking sound coming from the rear, it sounds like a bunch of crickets!!! I still have a lot of interior parts I need to replace that are broken, but theyre not squeaking so they can wait =D

Ok so, what I did to permanently fix this problem, is I re-lubed the rear hatch hinges with lithium spray grease that will never rub off, not even in the rain. I also replaced both of the rear hatch rubber stoppers, and the squeaking went away, but then the squeaking came back again from another place! I THINK its coming from the interior panels in the rear hatch where light switch is located. So today I disassembled the rear hatch panels, and stuffed a bunch of cotton in there till I could barley get it back together, but I did eventually.

End result.... NO more squeaking, rattling, or any annoying noises at all, just a very quiet ride. I knew I had to fix this when I had a female friend ride in my car, and I was so embarrassed, because we could barley hear each other talk, the squeaking was so loud.

and btw, I removed the wash clothes and I hope I dont have to use them again!

looks like you got to the problem before i could post! i had the same problem with the back piece but for me i took it off and i took out all the little metal clips and bent them tighter so they couldnt move on the plastic piece that holds them. took care of it permanently! $0 and about 1/2 hour of time!

I fixed my rear hatch noises by unbolting the latch mechanism and pushing it down then bolting it back in so that it get a tighter hold on the hatch.

I finally got the squeaking in my car to stop after I took the time to catch the feral Guinea Pig in my trunk and cook/eat it.

Solved my problems, and the car seems to smell a bit better now too!

i had it aswell, i just wrapped the hinge with some electrical tape and that fixed it for me., now the only noise/rattling i have is from the rear divider, i need to figure out how to do this.

Mine rattled a little from the bottom grooves where the divider rested..plastic on plastic. A couple strategically placed dabs of clear silicone fixed it.
