Am i Safe with only a boost controller?

I am getting a new motor in the rx-7. I am getting an agressive streetport, 3mm seals and so on. my question is I have a downpipe, midpipe and an intake, will i be safe from overboosting with just a boost controller. i have a greddy profec b. thanks

Safe from overboosting? It's possible. You might need a ported wastegate to combat boost creep. But the real question to ask here is will the engine run right without a tuned ECU (Power FC, AEM, Haltech, etc)? NO! Ported motors need some form of tunable ECU to change the timing so the motor will run right.
