Question Aluminum Radiator - How much cooler are they?

Can some of you guys with aluminum radiators post the temperature difference you’ve seen from changing the stock radiator on the FD’s to an aluminum one. Also, please list the brand you are using.

I’ve seen drastic cooling differences on Honda/Integra engines using Fluidyne radiators but don’t know if it’ll do too much of a difference on Rotaries.

BTW, I’ve already done a search on this topic. If there is a topic out there please link me.

Thanks!

Well, the cooling capabilities are MUCH better with a larger core, aluminum radiator. However, the temperatures aren't much different sitting in traffic and whatnot.. The big difference I saw was cruizing temps. like 7 degrees if I recall correctly..

I don't have any solid data in numbers for them, but I also run the newer fans (trying to refrain from "spec" anything...) 7 - 5 blade setup vs. 5 - 4 blades on the old ones..

I haven't even seen over 90C on the PFC yet.. Almost too cold..

Installed Fluidyne in my 95 FD and as jdhuegel1 says the cooling capacity is MUCH geater. Temps will actually cool down if it gets hot setting in traffic, etc. While crusing at highway speeds I see about the same 5-7 degree F lower temps.

another big reason why people get rid of the stock radiator is because it has plastic end tanks
