alternator dismantal is a pain. please help
ok this is a pain in the ***. I barrowed my buddies impact wrench to take the center bolt off the pulley and now the pulley is still stuck on the alternator. It is really stuck on the good. Anyone know of any good way to get it off. I feel like taking a rubber mallet to it but really don't think thats a good idea. thanks for any help

You can also take it to any shop that has an impact gun. What I did to remove that damn bolt myself was drained it with WD40, used a ViceGrip to hold the pulley from moving, and then used a size 24mm(I think that is the size) socket with larger rachet wrench to loosen. You might need a person to hold down the alternator.

Did you get the nut off? My pulley just came right off after I got the nut off. fedupfd3 is right, if it doesn't just come off you can use a pulley puller to get it off. It is basically like one of those clamps that drops down into the stuffed animals at the bowling alley with a threaded pin in the middle. You put the arms around the pulley, then crank the pin down until the pulley comes off.
