Alternator bearings
Hi all,
The smaller of the two bearings (rearmost) in my alternator are shot. Does anyoen happen to know a part number, or preferably, the dimensions of the bearings. Unfortunately I haven't got the unit to hand to measure, and not sure I'd trust myself to do it right anyways!
RockAuto list one with the measurements, but I think it's the larger of the two (front)
Cheers in advance.

[EDIT]
Sorry, just realized you are in the UK, and that you're wanting to order it from Rockauto.

Sorry, I don't have to order from RA - I was just using them as an example, because they listed the physical size on their site I could have cheekily used that to get one of the same size here in the UK

I'd intended to tell you that, rather than hunting around auto parts distributors and the like, you'd be better off going to a place that deals specifically with alternators, starters and other electric motors. Last year, I had an Isuzu alternator bearing go bad. I went to every bearing supply and auto parts place within 50 miles, nobody had it. The closest I could get was .25" too long and I'd have had to machine my housing to use it, and it was a $30 bearing (from this fat guy in a suit and tie...I hate dealing with people who never get their hands dirty). But at a Napa parts store, and old timer told me about a starter/alternator repair place in Joplin. I went there, they had the bearing in stock for about $5, and they even pressed the old one out and the new one in for me for no charge. Took maybe 5 minutes and saved me nearly $200.
That'd be your best shot, if there is something akin to that where you live.
Good luck
