Exclamation Alternative Cooling Method

Well, i was told when nitrous is injected it is injected in VERY LOW temperatures. I was wondering if i can use maybe a really small shot like a 10shot just when the engine temp goes up. Also i heard that the real reason nitrous makes hp is mainly the cooling effect. Please correct me if i am wrong. Would you think this would be a logical setup and wont wear the engine too much? Also anyof you guys try that new Nitrous express item where its called Inter-Cooler where it uses N20 and some other compound to cool the engine. Thanks in Advance! Please if i am wrong correct me after all i'm new to the FD community. All i want to do is learn. So thanks again.

I doubt that NOS would cause any significant cooling. It may lower INTAKE temperatures, but after combustion, you still have the same amount of heat, if not more because of the added power. Besides, you can always:
1) get a better/bigger intercooler
2) turn on your fans
3) fabricate a water misting system ala rally racing

evel333 is right. It's injected as below freezing temps, but you need to burn fuel to move your car, so you need a hot engine anyway. And nitrous DOES NOT make HP by cooling the car. Whoever told you that must have failed high school chemistry, ate paint chips, and smoked a lot of crack. Nitrous is an oxidizer that allows you to burn more oxygen more efficiently. More O2 equals more HP.

Nitrous DOES help make more hp by cooling the intake charge. And it doesn't make the oxygen burn more efficiently, there's just more oxygen to burn, because 1) nitrous is two parts oxygen, and 2) since the intake charge is cooler it is denser.

Nitrous increases power by bringing more o2 to the equation like newrx7fan stated. However, it does not make a considerable difference through lowering intake temp. I believe the equation is: for every 10F you lower the intake temp, you gain 2% more hp. We're talking minimal gains here.
