All FD's have three way rear view mirrors?

Tonight for the first time on the five/six years I have owned it, I discovered that the car has a three way rear view mirror. (I thought it was only two.)

Are all FD's 3s?

No, not U,D,L,R; but clear, darker, and very dark. At the very dark setting you could have a solar flare behind you and not be blinded.

Can't say that i've noticed three settings on mine. I know for sure that it has two. I'll have to remember to check when i get it back from the shop.

Two using the lever at the bottom, but tilt the entire mirror further and you find the next setting.

I'll try this the next time the Peterbilt is riding my tail at night and I'm blocked in from zooming away.

All that does is pull the mirror out of position and puts it facing the headliner. There is no detent for a third position.

During daylight hours you cannot see anything because the reflected light interferes. Do not tilt it toward the headliner, tilt it down toward the rear storage bins.

As I said, use the lever to see the normal and dark setting, then tilt it to the super dark position. You can see the cars behind you, but the lights are extremely dim.
