Alcantara reupholstered headliner search...

I know there is a guy here that reupholstered a lot of parts in his FD interior, but I can't find any post about it, even tho I've been searching a lot.

I would like to find pictures of that. I'm thinking about modifying my FC interior, but there is not many people out here that think an FC is worth putting a lot of money in comfort details. But there is few tweaked out FD interiors that could give me some good ideas and I remember clearly an alcantara FD interior that amazed me a while ago.

I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks

Gordon's headliner is not alcantara it is some fancy black mohair broadcloth in homage to race car's of the past. He's now swapped that out for white leather.

Nope, it's definitely not this one. If I remember correctly he had chromed mirrors... I liked for some other reasons tho.

Why not go with some suedeliner instead of alcantra, it's cheaper, softer, and looks just as good.

Very high quality stuff too. I've got 3 yards of the granite colored stuff sitting around.

That's still Gordon, it was just his previous FD. I'm not sure if he still has pictures of his old FD around but you can send him a PM (if he doesn't pop in this thread).

^The chromed mirrors were from Gordon's red car, not the black one I am describing. So, it is possible he had alcantara on the red car. PM him.

I believe I have a few threads saved on my home computer about the subject. My main concern with using a faux suede product, would be sun damage. I want to do the headliner, a-pillars and visors in my car. I have yet to find someone that has done the sun visors, though. I'm not even sure if it can be done. That suedeliner stuff looks pretty nice though, and way cheaper than alcantara. Last price I got was about $85 per yard for alcantara, and I think I was told you would need about three yards to do the headliner and a-pillars.

I remember seeing a bunch of nice stitched + wrapped suede pictures on a yellow FD in one of the seven stock threads.
