Unhappy Alarm switch attached to the key/lock cyl.?

This has been happening a couple of times. When I unlock the drivers door, the alarm will sometimes go off.
It seems to do this for the next few times I unlock the Drv door. Then it's fine and operates normally for a week or so.
On my Grand Cherokee, the lock cyl. has a alarm switch/relay or something that disarms the alarm when you unlock it. Is this how our alarms work? Is it as simple as replacing the switch? Thanks.

If you pull off your triangle pc for the door handle you will see that there is a switch attached to the part where you put your key into.
