Alarm goes off when unlocking trunk

Anytime I unlock the trunk without unlocking one of the doors first, the alarm goes off. I use the key to unlock the trunk, but it doesn't disarm the alarm. Does/has anyone else had this problem, and is there a fix?

I had this problem as well. Anytime I opened the trunk with the key or the passenger side door with the key before unlocking the driver's door the alarm would go off. Never found a fix for it. Just got used to unlocking the driver's door first as much of a pain as it seems to be at first.

Never had the problem with the passenger door, but probably 1 out of 10 times I have the problem with the trunk.

I had a problem with unlocking the door on my 93
it would go off randomly when I unlocked the driver door. I had to unlock the passenger door and do it from the inside

then 2 weeks later it quit and never did it again????

I would imagine it's something wrong with the sensor on the lock cylinder - it's not telling the alarm that the hatch was correctly opened by the key.

The is a switch with 2 wires that snaps on to the back of the lock on both doors and the hatch that disarms the alarm. Sometime it comes off the back of the lock. Take a look.
