airpump freezes???

Hey guys, i have a disconnected air pump on the belt still and it is starting to freeze up on me lately every once in a while. it will just stop for like half a sec than go again. is there anything i can do for this. or do i have to buy a pulley kit? cant i just disconnect it and maybe take the internals out?

Im afraid it is going to seize up on me completely sooner or later, thanx.
