Airbag beep code?

I Replaced the stock steering wheel with an aftermarket (YAY!) this last weekend. (Looks great by the way) Ever since I replaced it I get a beep code whenever I turn the key. It goes about every 10 seconds until about 5 minutes then stops. Its like five or so beeps. Really annoying. I was assuming that it was from the airbag being removed so I did a little research and couldn't find much info. I removed the airbag fuse and that still didn't make any change. Does anyone have any knowledge they could share with me about this? Perhaps its not even the airbag and its something else. Anyhoo Thanks in advance!

Did you try to disconnect the air bag module? Don't know if that would work but I would try.

Yes I did disconnect it. Sorry, I should have stated that in the OP. I removed the unit completely.

then try putting a 1 ohm resistor on the airbag plug.

Theres a write up it's pretty easy. I never bothered as it stops after a minute and usually takes 10 before I even move it...

Does anyone have a link to said write up? A resistor you say? I'll look into that as well.

I did a research on this because I'm about to replace my steering wheel. From what I have been reading, if you disconnect the airbag module, the beeping should go away. The airbag module is to the right of the gas pedal and left to the radio.

go to the second page for a picture of what the module looks like.
