Air re-circ valve causing knock?

Hi Guys,

I recently installed a PFC on my 94 R2 and have been getting high knock readings up to 103 since. These high readings seem to exactly coincide with the Air Re-circulation Valve dumping air as I come of the throttle/boost.

My recirc pipe is not plumbed into anything and is just lying there disconnected. It has some kind of a HKS valve at the end and there is a 90 degree fitting at the end of it.

Have any of you guys ever experienced this and should the re-circ valve be plumbed into my HKS air filters??

Thanks in advance.

I don't think thats the cause.. In order for you to make that conclusion, you need to datalogit and see at what point you are reading these knocks.

Ok Herb...I live in Ireland and believe it or not there is nobody that can map an FD. A group of us have got together and there is a guy from England comming over to Dublin to map our cars but it wont be until early Feb..and my fd is my daily driver!

I was out in it again there and i am getting high knock (104) if I half depress the accelerator and keep it there through the rev range, this seems to be more sever the higher the gear im in...and happens just as the re-circ dumps air...why would this be??

However, if I floor it I am only seeing readings of (29) through 1st, 2nd and 3rd?...would this be a fueling problem...sounds to me like the more fuel the less knock..

any advice??
