Air flow under the hood

hi there,
have question, Does anyone know, how the air flows under the hood while driving with stock setup? stock airbox and other things. I'd like to buy, wented light cover but I want to know if it will have some significance. or it is only a nice looking think? with no cooling efect. I'd like to do some drafts under the hood
like this maybe

That won't hurt, but it won't help much either. Here's an old thread that might help:

Looks like the pictures are gone.

Jak se mas?

The ducted headlight covers were intended to feed some outside air to an open intake. They never did a very good job of it.
If you have a stock airbox, 'adam c' might be able to show you a more efficient and cheaper way to feed cold air to it.

If you want to vent the engine bay, consider a vented hood. Most are kind of ugly IMO, and usually require the use of hood pins. But they do alot more to vent underhood heat and improve flow to your intercooler than that headlight duct.

Jim beat me to it, on the stock airbox, the headlight cover won't do you much good, if any. If you like the way it looks, go for it, just don't expect a power increase.

I'd just waited a little airflow under the hood .. wondering if the cold air flow reaches the rear of the turbo. when I lifted the hood a bit. hot air could then flow out.
I tried to draw.

what you think? will it work?

Most agree that lifting the rear of the hood will NOT help air-flow. Forward motion of the car creates a high-pressure area at the base of the windshield.
