i just installed a nardi steering wheel with a quick release and now my air bag light keeps flashing..... i knew this was going to happen.....but is there a way to make the light go away other than pull the dash and take the bulb out?

Yes, install a special resistor that comes with some kits. Check the Miata sites for steering wheel hubs and you see what I mean.
