Aftermarket Sway Bar Mounts
Hi All,
I installed Tein Flex coilovers this weekend and when I was installing the fronts I noticed my sway bar mounts were bent. The left one is very badly bent and the right one only slightly bent.
I have looked on a few sites for aftermarker reinforced sway bar mounts and only come across one site, SRMotorsports.com. http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr93susp.html They want 300 for them.
Do any of you know of any other manufacturers that have them? Any that are less than 300?
Also do any of you own or recommend Pettit Racing's swaybar reinforcer? http://www.pettitracing.com/sections/Suspension.html
Thanks,
Joseph

There's the Widefoot mounts that quite a few people use. I think they're about the same price as the SR Motorsports mounts.
Their site's down right now but it's www.widefootracing.com
BTW, the sway brace reinforcer that Pettit sells is actually a Racing Beat part -- marked up $20.....
By all accounts, it seems to be a good piece.

Joseph,
about Widefoot. Just do a search for David Breslau and mounts...somewhere on here there is his contact info. I just purchased a set from him like a month ago and I can easily say that these are the best quality pieces that I have ever put on my car!
When I first got them I was like man this is it?? But the quality is beyond first rate. It is one solid (I think billet) block of aluminum. It raises the mount of the sway bar also to lessen the chance of hitting anything in the future and bending things again.
The best part is installing them...they fit PERFECTLY!! And when you put them in you really appreciate the subtle engineering that he did. On the side there is an additional plate that secures to the frame to really give it strength and rigity....
I HIGHLY recommend the piece...pm me if you have any questions

Series7....
I don't have a digital camera....but I should have gotten one for the install. I commented on the install when I had it done in a shop here in dallas (see the South forum)....
To tell you the truth...the mounts are probably overkill, if you plan on tracking your car...its a nice upgrade if you bent yours previously, if not...save some money and get the stock ones...REALLY...
I was just impressed on the fit...and finish...IT WAS SOO EASY TO INSTALL!!
The only bar that I know it doesn't work on is the Tripoint bar with the bronze bushings...the regular tripoint bar (the one I got) works fine...

If you aren't going to upgrade the stock anti-sway bar, and not beat the crap out of the car, the stock ones are fine. Otherwise they suck ***. The quickest way to ruin the front is to upgrade the sway bar and run some SCCA events.

Racing Beat swaybar
On that thought, does anyone here use the Racing Beat sway bar mount brace?
http://www.rxecret7.com/fronswaybarr.html
Does anyone know of a Japanese part similar to this?
(Living in New Zealand, parts from Japan are cheap and shipping is a breeze - parts from the US are not)

RE Amamiya has a NEW sway bar mounts with a brace in one piece. It's on there website if you could read and find it. Also it was on option Feb or March. (Option and RE Amamiya site are both in Japanese)

Too much. $125 just for the braces from Mazda Motorsports; I would expect Tripoint to be about the same. I would just buy stronger aftermarket mounts that don't need the braces. You only need the braces if you also run the solid bushings for the Tripoint bar shown in the pic. I happen to use the braces because I bought the whole package at a great deal, but if I were buying it new I would get the Tripoint bar with plain bushings and then use stronger mounts with no braces.
