Aftermarket Seat Belt Harness Install Points....?

Hey guys. I was wondering if their was anyplace on a stock FD to mount a 4 point harness? I know it's obvious I shoudl get a Harness bar or a cage but I was wondering if their were any place to mount these. Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. I did do like 6 searches. Sorry to mods if I missed something.

Well i'm not saying this is a good idea, but if you don't have the actual harness bar with the eye bolts i've seen ppl just wrap it around there.

From a safety standpoint i'd say that there wouldn't be one.

Could you elaborate on that? Do most people have Harness bars put in? Could you jsut bolt them in where the seats bolt in? Anyone else have any ideas?

You could buy a Rotary Extreme Harness Bar and mount the harnesses in there. Otherwise with a completely stock interior FD mounting harnesses is NOT a good idea at ALL. In terms of safety it's not safe at all and using regular seatbelts is a much better idea.

I wouldn't run a harness until I got a cage to be honest. In a roll over with a harness and no protection, you don't have much room for your head if the roof gets crushed in.

A harness is not safe to use as a restraint device without a rollbar/cage. Period. I like Chuck and his products but I would NOT trust my life to the RE harness bar. The M2, maybe.

The only safe place to secure a harness is to a rollbar/cage bar (at the appropriate height) or to the hatch floor. Larry at The Race Shop does make a harness bar that I would trust (the old M2 actually). However, as pointed out, using a harness without a rollbar/cage means that your head has nowhere to go if you roll and the roof caves in. Bad idea.

Lets get a little ricey here which I know no one is about but unfortunatly my girl bought the belts for me and wants me to put them in for the time being. I am a lightly modded RX7 at this point and I am not raod racing. I DD the car and yes I know how retarded it is to have 4/5 point harnesses for a DD but I am looking for answers. I am looking into buy a harness bar now but where else would you gusy suggest I bolt these things in at?

What part of IT IS DANGEROUS do you not understand? The only place to attach the harness uppers is to a rollbar or harness bar (or the hatch floor). You will need a harness bar (M2 or RaceShop) to do this. If you still decide to do this, I would wear the stock seatbelts as well.

How hard is to tell your girl that "hey, thanks for the thought, but I can't use these". Jeesh.

Only 2 choices. Rollbar/cage or M2 harness bar. Anywhere else will compromise your safety.

Via M2/Raceshop Harness Bar. Harness attaches with eyebolts.

Via Kirk Rollbar.
