aftermarket radiators

was wondering if anyone has raw data (numbers) on fluidyne vs koyo radiator as far as engine/water temps go. I know fluidyne is 50% larger than stock and koyo is 100% .. blah blah blah .. but i cant find a thread that talks about differences as far as temps are after using either product

Koyo is a more efficeint but is not a direct fit........If you want a direct drop-in use fluidyne. My advice is if your just doing reliability and a few bolt-on applications use the fluidyne. If you plan on doing an extensive transformation use koyo (e.g. battery relocation, etc.. etc..)

Battery relocation is not necessary with a Koyo - if you're prepared to spring for a an Oddysey (sp?) battery... mine fits very nicely...

And the Koyo has reduced my temps at the track to comfortable levels....

I forgot exactly what was done to fit the Koyo in my car, but I still have a full size battery in my car. It wasn't very difficult though. Trout2 may remember.

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE! PEOPLE CHANGE THE RADIATORS TO GET RID OF THE STOCK PLASTIC END TANKS. I REPEAT! YOU WONT AND WILL NOT FIND ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE AND STOCK!

Please don't shout...

On what data do you base that statement?

I didn't give a toss about the plastic end-tanks. I changed to Koyo to reduce my temperatures, particularly at the track.. and it was worth every cent...

He's meaning with normal street driving. Most people, with good condition stock radiators (not ones beat all the hell), don't notice a huge if any change in temps from just driving on the street when swapping radiators.

Guys who run their cars on road courses, however, do notice the difference.

:P i went the fluidyne route cause i heard it was a direct fit .. unfortunately i spent most of the time trying to get it to fit right the stock fans wouldnt line up with the radiator so i had to chizzle at the fan bolt holes it to make it fit .. im sorta regretting getting the fluidyne .. i dont really notice much difference between the stock and the fluidyne .. would it be the same if i were to go with the koyo? or would there still be no noticeable difference as far as street driving is concerned?

Not sure what temps are like where you're at, but here down-under the Koyo made noticable differences under extreme conditions (as would the Fluidyne, I'm sure). Maximum temps were reduced by 8-10 degrees, and after sitting in traffic (which is the only place I've noticed elevated temps), the dropoff in temperature once you start moving is almost instantaneous.

You may notice more difference in Summer I think...

Yes, the difference is much more noticable at the track.. but under hot conditions (we have ambient temps of 45 degrees Celsius here in summer), especially in traffic, there are definitely benefits...
