aftermarket oil thermostat install
I am struck trying to install the oil thermostat (Mocal) for my dual oil coolers. Anyway I can seem to install it, something else is in the way.
Currently the way everything sits, my drivers side fan will not spin freely because of the 90* fitting. If I lift up the thermostat, the A/C line rubs against the pulley. Currently the A/C line is pushing against the thermostat. I can't push the thermostat down because it will then hit the steering rack.
I'm really at a loss what to try next. Do I need a different fitting somewhere? Does anyone have any pictures of how they have theirs installed?
Here's what I'm stuck with:

It looks like you're using a FMIC possibly causing the radiator to be mounted slightly different/ closer to the engine. I would recommend using the following XRP forged 90 degree fitting. Using this fitting will allow you to remove the straight female to female adapter and bring the thermostat assembly closer to the engine giving you the space needed to clear the fans. Hope this helps. Btw we don't really advertise it, but we can get pretty much whatever fittings you guys need just PM us

Fitment was one of the reasons for retaining only one of the oil lines from a kit I purchased used from the forum. Had I to do it again, I would simply determine the routing, buy the necessary parts and do it all myself with pushon hose.
Much simpler in the long run.
FWIW my Oil T-stat is mounted on the drivers side of the engine bay, just forward and slightly above oil line to the motor.

I found a similar one on Earl's site yesterday, am waiting for a response on price, how to order, etc. I've already bought (bracket for thermostat) from batinc so I'll call them up

I'm actually replacing the hose that you see in the picture. I decided to go with braided nylon. More flexible than SS & it won't cut up other stuff in the car.

Well a few months later and I'm just about finished. I just need to clamp down the lines and put the ducts on. I've got 1 Mocal 19-row cooler with a factory drivers side cooler. I used Summit braided nylon hose and summit fittings with the exception of using a 180* aeromotive fitting on the mocal cooler. The banjo fitting on the block is from Mocal.
I'm thinking of trimming the length of the line going back to the thermostat, haven't decided if it will be worth the effort yet.
