Aftermarket fuel level sender questions

I plan to install an electronic fuel level sender and use the stock fuel level gauge

For those who have pulled this off:
1) what brand / model sensor?
2) how long?
3) what empty/full resistance was it calibrated to? (the FSM says 74.9/7.5 ohms empty/full, but obviously the needle can move above/below that, and I'd prefer to use the full sweep.)
4) can you mount it completely immersed in the tank?

Thanks for your input.

Dave

I'm sorry I can't answer your question. I have a question to ask you, though. Where in the FSM did you find the information about the fuel level sender and its resistance sweep? I don't think mine is working correctly and would like to adjust it. If you would point me in the right direction, that would be very helpful.
Good luck finding the part you need.

Patrick

Never mind. I found my answer.

If yours works but isn't accurate (it's probably reading too low), just remove it from the tank and clean the electrical contacts. It should be really clear what to do when you see it apart.

I got the resistance info from the Body Electrical Troubleshooting Guide, and the actual numbers are 75.9/7.4Ohms Empty/full.

Thank you for the information, dgeesaman, and you're right, it does read too low.
