Aftermarket Downpipe.

I ordered my downpipe today, and i was just wondering, when i install it, am i gonna smell fuel or something like that out of the exhaust? I'm just worried that it might stink a lot and i won't be able to sit in it. I have an aftermarket catback, stock main cat, and now i'll have downpipe.

Also how hard is it to install it ? Thanks

Nope, you won't have that "exhaust smell" until you replace the cat with a midpipe.

If you don't want that "exhaust smell" don't ever use a midpipe, hi-flo cats are fine.

You shouldn't smell fuel unless you have a leak. I didn't do my dp because I had it installed at the same time the clutch went in. You might need new studs so be prepared.

From what I've heard it's best to soak the bolts with a lubticator when the car is hot, let it cool down and soak them again.

You will not get the fuel smell till you replace the mp as mahjik stated. It is not overly difficult to install depending on which brand you went with. Some don't match up well, or so I have heard. I got the m2 and it is supposedly the easiest to install.

The downpipe is one of the best mods you can do to your RX-7. Make sure to replace your old gaskets with the new gaskets. Don't worry about the fuel smell, because there will not be any.
