hey everyone,

Im in japan ( for summer school) my dad called me up asking about the RX-8 transmission for his '93 R1 RX7 and he also asked about aftermarket computers. can anyof you recommend some affordable computers? Woudl it be cheaper to get them here while im in japan or jsut back in the states? Im a little confused cause my dad gets his car worked on at Tripoint engineering but i guess maybe he wants to save a little money.

It depends on what he is going to be doing with the car right? when choosing a new computer? Mostly its his toy car. he uses it to go to the occasional RX-7 drive/get together and tennis/golf. no not really any real heavy racing. Just somehting reliable and that will get a little more oomph out of his 350 hp R1.

from apexi dealers, the power fc is usually about 100,000yen
+ hand controller @ 35,000yen

(which currently works out to be about US$1.1k for both)
