advice needed on new mods

I am going to start modding my stock 93.i am doing the safety mods first such as replacing ast,vac lines, belts, hoses, fuel filter, etc. My question is, i want to start out with a downpipe and catback exhaust while retaining my stock cat converter no midpipe wanted. i like the apexi intake, next upgrading to pettit or m2 stage 3 ecu. i dont have the $ for a ic at this time, but i have read that i can do this setup until i can get the bigger ic.Also is a efini y pipe worth the $? any imput on these questions would be helpful,i did do a search.

Id save up for the i/c before even thinking about any other mod. If all youre doing is dp, cb and intake you might want to let go of one of those and stick with the stock ecu. Again, save some money. Check the classified section here, get a used i/c and rechipped ecu!
Good luck!

You'll need to control the boost after installing the DP and CB You'll probably see a spike at the transition. Do a search for boost controllers. I assuming you have a boost gauge installed. If not, do that first and make sure the car is running right before modding it.

It's nice to see that some one new how to us the search function or read the stickys.

It looks like you are going about it the right way (replacing ast,vac lines, belts, hoses, fuel filter, etc).

I would sugest getting the retuned ecu as one of the first mods, This gives you a margen of safty. Athough it is probably not needed for just cat back when you add a down pipe and intake into the mix, you chance running not the optimum A/F's wich could lead to detonation (wich is very bad for the rotary). An upgraded IC is going to be a good mod because of the horribly sized stocker. It sounds like you could get away with a stockmount IC, but I don't know you goals for the car.

There are many good deals in the for sale section of this forum, if your tight on money.
