When you go custom, often the rad ducting and the undertray/splitter are separate pieces. That's what Damian is saying.
I know, I just stated that. I'm believing that a flat custom tray will help aerodynamics, but not cooling.

Oops, my bad, didn't read well.

You're right, the undertray isn't going to help the cooling at all. What you need to do is get some good ducting to make sure that all the air you can get from behind the IC (and around it depending on your bumper) is forced through the radiator as well.

AHHH... the front mount, not the bumper, is the issue?! Yeay, I quess you'll have to fab something that ducts the IC to the radiator.

sorry i wrote to quick. i understand why but that just seems like a lot a material to fab. when you could make it one piece. but i'll do some measuring and come up with a couple designs. and i see some race cars where the splitter extends passed the front of the bumper maybe an inch and i wanted to know if that has an effect on anything or just extra material.

That "extra material" per se is the splitter - it creates downforce.

ok makes sence. so that part makes the down force and the rest is to keep air from getting uder the car to prevent lift. sorry it seems i don't have my head on my shoulders today
