ACT clutch installed last year

sitting at a stop light in NYC and the pedal goes mussy and the car won't go into gear!

Any ideas, clutch has about 10k miles on it and I have been VERY gentle, no launches, no drag racing, a few road racing track days. I always match revs and rarely slip the clutch.

Most likely you have a bad slave cylinder. Pretty easy, and inexpensive to repair.

check your clutch hose. It's mounted on the firewall next to the map sensor. typically leaks at the crimped part due to thermal cycling. replace with a braided one from the rx7 store for about $40.00.

If it's the slave, you usually get plenty of warning such as sitting at a light in gear with clutch pedal depressed, the car starts moving forward.
