ACT clutch best option?

I pulled my tranny because of bearing noise. turned out to be the roller bearing just off the input shaft connecting the input shaft to the output shaft. after close inspection probing about with my feler gauge. Im replacing most of the synchro's and a few gears. bad news is the worst gear was 4th. the gear and the hub looked pretty bad. the gear it also the input shaft. so that part alone was 230$ thing is the car shifted pretty well. I felt the tranny was doing good but it looks at though it was getting close to the limits of wear before starting to shif plke crap. ANYHOW

pulld my clutch to take a look and it looks like it's about out of life too.
it's a CF dual friction. I like the clutch because it seems to hold well and the pressure on teh peddal is very streetable. my other car has an ACT Extreme pressure plate and I don't like it at all sure at first it's cool but after a few years I wish i HAD SOMETHING MORE STREETABLE.
after researching it looks as though the ACT S/S is a common choice for many of you.

my question for those of you that have it and have had other clutches, do you recommend it?

I plan to use it mostly for spirited driving few drag races ane several track days/ driving schools per year. bearing in mind cost and my hp goal of 400WHP is there a better clutch for me?

I have the ACT extreme PP with the SS disk and I like it alot. I'm at near stock power levels even (DP and intake) and no problems.

It took awhile to get used to the grabbiness, but I certainly wouldn't call it unstreetable. I even taught my wife how to drive a stick with this clutch, so I don't think it's unforgiving at all.

Just wondering what you find unstreetable about the extreme PP? If you're running a puck styled clutch I'd understand, but if not then the SS friction plate is the same part number for the SS, HD, and Extreme setups. The only differences should be pedal effort (40% v. 59%) and clamping force (400 ft lbs v 451 ft lbs).

the ACT I used in my other car was a 2900# plate it was slightly more than 100% increast in clamping force. What I found I hated was teh peddal effort, and the way the stock hyraulic system engaged so close to the floor. I even modified teh peddal and added a sst line to try and fix the problem. in the end it was switching to a different clutch that helped. mostly the car is driven on the treet

Just got in after trying my new clutch!
Finished installing the ACT today, it's a Heavy Duty pressure plate with a Extreme 6-puck disc (No sprung center).
And its SOOOOOOOOO easy to use!!
After reading several threads about this subject I expected it to be difficult, but it's not at all!
Took me a good minute to get used to it.
A friend of mine tried it to, no problems whatsoever.

I like the spec clutches. The pedal feel isn't too crazy, wont break your leg, but it'll take whatever power you throw at it, engages quick.
