In my car the accelerator pedel sits closer towards the floor than the brake and clutch pedels, making it near immposible, for me at least, to match revs when shifting down. Does this bother anyone else?

Planning to get some aluminium accelerator plate thingy and put some sort of block in between to bring it to the same level as the brake. Any better ideas? Or are our cars designed like this for some reason I don't know about?
