Acceleration problems

My name is Connor and i moderate the "tires and wheels forum". A friend of mine has a stock 94 gen 3. She told me that when she shift's into 3rd she gets a buckng between 2500 and 2900 rpm. She has had all the vacuum lines replaced and it hasn't helped. Is there anything specifically that could cause this. The Mazda dealership in her area can't diagnosis the problem and she is tired of having people that don't have a clue playing with her car.

Any help would be appreciated.

how bad is the bucking? is it bucking or more like surging? does it happen in ever gear or only in 3rd gear between the said RPM range?

Don't know if it's the infamous "3K" rx7 hesitation, but if so it can be solved with another ground from the battery.

Might be solved. Maybe, if you're lucky.

I had the same problem when I ran the A/C or had my lights on. Check all the grounding points. And add another ground strap. You can get a free one from Pettit.

I am not sure how bad the "bucking" is. The car is a few hundred miles away so i am useing her description. As i recall she said once she gets above 32- 3500 rpm it smooths out. A tech that she uses in her local area had mentioned he has heard of grounding problems but she is hesitant about letting this guy experiment with her car.

The car is completely stock other than stock replacement parts. The vaccum hoses have been completely replaced to eliminate the chances of leaks. I thought that it sounded like an fuel injection/vacuum problem from how she desribed it over the phone.
